Laser - Australian Championship 2010 - Adelaide AUS - Day 3

The announced frontal system arrived with a delay and without the expected wind speeds. However, the races 5 and 6 could be sailed according to schedule in a fresh 10 to 18 kn breeze. No surprises in the Laser Standard class, where Tom Slingsby AUS collected two more firsts. Ashley Brunning AUS is now on the second place ahead of Kacper Zoeminski POL and Christoph Bottoni SUI, who almost defeated Tom Slingsby in race 6. After 6 races, the qualification phase of the big Laser Radial fleet is over with the three Asian sailors Seng-Leong Koh SIN, Muhamed Mohd-Ramzi MAS and Khairulnizam Mohd-Afendy MAS on top of the rankings. The best woman, Laura Baldwin AUS, follows on the 4th place. In the Laser 4.7 class, the fresher breeze was responsible for a change on top of the classifications with Lloyd Collings AUS taking the first place from Terence Choo SIN. Benjamin Walkemeyer AUS follows on the 3rd place. As soon as the discard of the worst results comes into effect, Laszlo Horvath FRA will make a big jump in the rankings, as he was the winner of 4 of the 6 races. A short report.
