Laser - Australian Championship 2010 - Adelaide AUS - Day 5

A 20-25 kn breeze from the sea with big waves created rough conditions yesterday. No surprise that Tom Slingsby AUS added some more race wins to his flawless series of now 9 wins in all races of the Olympic Laser Standard class. Behind the leader, the fight for the other places on the podium is very tight after a OCS disqualification of Ashley Brunning AUS, 2nd up to now. After the first race today, Christoph Bottoni SUI is only 3 points behind the Australian, and Jeemin Ha KOR follows only 2 points back. In the hours ahead, the results of the 10th race will be posted. Tomorrow, on the last day of the event, two more races are on the program. The Lasers Radial race today in a Gold- and Silver-Fleet. Seng-Leong Koh KOR was the winner of the first final race and is now leading solidly with an advantage of 20 points. The juniors Christopher Jones AUS and Maxime Mazard FRA follow on the ranks 2 and 3. Laura Baldwin AUS, the best woman in the fleet, is now down on the 8th position. Laszlo Horvath FRA has also an advantage of 20 points with the Lasers 4.7, followed by Lloyd Collings AUS and Terence Choo SIN on the ranks 2 and 3.
